I had a similar experience. Then following the Apple ecosystem I grew more critical, but I still recognise it's the less awful of the possible stacks.

I even wrote how Apple now is for me an acceptable evil in the sense that I don't like how they behave as a company, but I realise that there are not better alternatives (both from the point of view of the product and the point of view of the company public behaviour).
